High school boys basketball: Haughton gets first win

Jayden Carey scored 30 points to lead Haughton past Saline 77-48 for its first victory of the season Thursday in the Saline tournament.

In other boys games, Airline fell to Franklin Parish 70-43 at Airline, Benton lost to Loyola 51-46 at Benton and PCA fell to North Caddo 70-24 in Vivian.

At Saline, Carey scored 17 in the first half and led the Bucs (1-2) led 37-23. Josh Ross scored 10 of his 16 points in the first half.

Eli Ferguson led Saline with 17 points.

At Airline, Kevin White led the  Vikings 0-2) with 19 points. Rylon Bailey added eight and Isaiah Cunningham seven.

Benton’s game was its season opener and the first for new Head Coach Jake Bankston.

Abram Droddy led PCA (1-4) with eight points.
