The Haughton Lady Bucs remained undefeated with a 50-28 victory over Choudrant in the Quitman tournament Saturday.
Elsewhere, Parkway suffered its first defeat, falling to two-time defending non-select Division II champion Wossman 41-31 in the semifinals of the Sunday Players Showdown in the Lake Basketball Classic in Lake Charles.
Benton fell to South Beauregard 79-57 in the South Beauregard tournament. Plain Dealing defeated Bolton Academy 67-15 in the West Ouachita tournament.
Nine Haughton players against Choudrant. Shaniya Perkins had a team-high 14 points. Bella Hammond added 10.
Haughton (9-0) hosts Pleasant Hill Monday.
Parkway led Wossman 26-24 after three quarters but ran out of gas in the fourth. Dakota Howard and Kenadie Loche led the Lady Panthers with nine and eight points, respectively.
Parkway (9-1) hosts Lakeview Tuesday. Wossman (8-1) avenged a 53-49 loss to Parkway Nov. 20 in The Battle on the Hardwood Classic.
Saturday’s game started at 9 a.m. Parkway’s quarterfinal victory over Baton Rouge Woodlawn ended around 10 p.m. It followed Wossman’s quarterfinal game.
Kryshna Bostic and Taylor Brown led Benton with 14 and 13 points, respectively.
Sugar Sanchez had 10 points and 10 rebounds. Jannah Carter had 10 points and five steals.
Benton (6-3) hosts Mansfield Tuesday.
Plain Dealing improved to 5-3. The Lady Lions host North Webster Monday.
