High school boys soccer: Airline, Haughton notch wins

Airline and Haughton both defeated West Ouachita in boys matches Thursday at Airline Stadium.

The Vikings won 8-0, and the Bucs won 4-0.

After defeating West Ouachita, Airline then played Ruston to a 2-2 tie.

Airline’s Oscar Pacheco and Bacilio Pacheco scored two goals each against West Ouachita. Junior Funez, Dylan Johnson, Alan Breton and Brady Parks scored one apiece.

Breton and Oscar Pacheco had two assists each. Bacilio Pacheco, Tristan East, Johnson and Funez all had one.

Breton and Parks scored the goals against Ruston. Breton also had an assist. Matthew Posey had three saves.

In an 8-0 District 1-I victory over Huntington earlier this week, Oscar Pacheco scored three goals. Bacilio Pacheco, Monther Abdellatif, Parks, Johnson and Kail Maxey scored one apiece.

Breton had three assists and Parks two. Johnson and East had one each.

Airline improved to 9-1-2.

Johnson, a freshman, leads the Vikings with 14 goals on the season. Oscar Pacheco has nine and Parks seven.

Breton, a senior, leads the team in assists with 14. Funez has six.

Jaxon Palmer scored two goals in Haughton’s victory. Arlington Galdamez and Ethan Osbon scored one each.

Haughton improved to 4-10.
