High school girls basketball: Parkway advances to second round of Sandra Meadows Classic

The Parkway Lady Panthers advanced to the second round of the 32-team Sandra Meadows Classic with a 62-59 victory over Vista Ridge Thursday in Duncanville, Texas.

Parkway (13-2) faces Frisco Liberty Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the round of 16. 

Dakota Howard led Parkway with 31 points. She was 9-of-12 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter and 12-of-17 in the game,

Zara Baker scored all 13 of her points in the second half, including eight in the fourth quarter.

Parkway trailed 34-32 at the half. The Lady Panthers limited the Lady Rangers to four points in the fourth quarter and led 41-38 going into the fourth.
