Lilah’s Bakery celebrated its grand reopening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, Jan. 2, marking the beginning of Mardi Gras season in the Ark-La-Tex. Guests were treated to a behind-the-scenes look at bakery production, highlights of the newly expanded facility, a sneak peek at the 2025 King Cake flavors, and the debut of a gift shop featuring Louisiana-themed items.

Since 2006, Lilah’s Bakery has delighted the Shreveport-Bossier community and beyond with its renowned King Cakes, crafted with flavors as vibrant as Mardi Gras traditions. Lisa Tike, who has been involved in the bakery’s operations from the beginning—developing recipes and managing day-to-day activities—became the sole owner in 2022. Under her leadership, Lilah’s Bakery has soared to new heights, selling over 22,000 King Cakes annually.

To meet growing demand and maintain its local and national reach, Lilah’s Bakery underwent significant facility upgrades to increase production capacity. With a staff of 25, the bakery now has the ability to produce 800 cakes daily. Customers can choose from 20 King Cake flavors, nine rotating flavors of the week, or the “Indecision” box, which features eight varieties: four best-sellers and four weekly specials.

In addition to its expanded bakery operations, Lilah’s Bakery now boasts a gift shop filled with Mardi Gras and Louisiana-themed items, most of which are locally or regionally made. Offerings include candles, kitchen towels, stickers, drink syrups, T-shirts, jewelry, car fresheners, and more.

“We are excited to honor the rich tradition of King Cake while infusing our own creativity into the bakery,” said Tike. “Our goal is to create a fun and inviting space for families and friends to celebrate the Mardi Gras season. We can’t wait to share our new offerings with our loyal customers and welcome new faces to the bakery.”

Lilah’s Bakery is located at 1718 Centenary Blvd., Shreveport, Louisiana, 71101, and is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, visit LilahsKingCakes.com.
