High school softball: Benton extends winning streak to six

The Benton Lady extended their winning streak to six with a 5-1 victory over D’Arbonne Woods Monday in Farmerville.

Elsewhere, Haughton fell to Many 2-0 at Many and Plain Dealing lost to Red River 15-0 in Coushatta.

At D’Darbonne Woods, Bayleigh Moniz pitched a four-hitter with nine strikeouts and no walks.

Dylan Defee had two hits, including a triple. Emma Holmes had a two-RBI double in the top of the seventh. Lainey Lafitte also had a double.

Benton (8-1) is scheduled to open District 1-5A play Tuesday at home against Huntington at 6 p.m.

At Many, Saylor White allowed four hits, struck out four and walked one. Haughton had six hits. Kylie Small had a double.

Haughton (5-8) opens District 1-5A play at Captain Shreve Tuesday at 6.
