The Benton Lady Tigers defeated the Haughton Lady Bucs 10-7 in a District 1-5A game Thursday at Haughton.
In another District 1-5A game, Parkway fell to Natchitoches Central 11-1 in Natchitoches.
Airline’s scheduled district game against Huntington was postponed.
At Haughton, Benton led 3-1 after five innings. The Lady Tigers then scored six in the top of the sixth. The Lady Bucs answered with three in the bottom of the inning to cut the lead to 9-4.
Benton added a run in the top of the seventh. Haughton rallied with three runs but couldn’t complete the comeback.
Dylan Defee got things going for the Lady Tigers in the sixth with a one-out triple. The Lady Tigers scored all six runs with two outs.
Defee stole home for the first run. Emersyn Disotell followed with a double.
After Ashley Promes walked, Audrey Stark reached on a dropped third strike. Maggie Landman walked after fouling off seven pitches. Lainey Lafitte’s double made it 9-1.
Disotell went 3-for-5 with two doubles. Defee went 3-for-5. Promes went 2-for-3. Bayleigh Moniz, the winning pitcher, went 2-for-4 with a double.
Haughton’s Charlee Prothro went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. Clara Shaffer went 2-for-4.
Benton (10-1, 2-0), which has won eight in a row, is scheduled to play Quitman at 8:30 Friday in the Quitman tournament.
Haughton (6-9, 1-1) is scheduled to visit Cedar Creek Monday at 6.
At Natchitoches Central, Parkway had six hits. Shelby Vaughn went 2-for-2. Madison Menard went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Parkway (6-4, 0-1) is scheduled to visit Zwolle Friday at 5.
