The Benton Lady Tigers clinched at least a share of the District 1-5A championship with an 11-0 victory over Captain Shreve Thursday at Evangel.
In other District 1-5A games, Airline defeated Byrd 9-1 at Airline and Parkway downed Evangel Christian 17-7 at Parkway.
Benton (21-4, 7-0) leads Airline (15-8, 5-1) by one game in the loss column. The Lady Tigers can complete a perfect district run with a victory over Evangel Tuesday at home.
At Benton, Bayleigh Moniz and Juju Vincent combined on a no-hitter in the five-inning game. Moniz struck out five with no walks in 3 2/3 innings. Vincent had one strikeout in 1 1/3 innings. They came within one walk of a perfect game.
Ashley Promes went 3-for-3 with a home run, double and five RBI. Dylan Defee went 3-for-3.
Izzy Vincent went 2-for-3. Emersyn Disotell had a double and three RBI.
Audrey Stark and Lainey Lafitte both doubled.
At Airline, seven Lady Vikings combined for 12 hits. Tanesciya Thomas went 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBI. Aleena Duran went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI.
Lindsey Marcinkus had two hits, including a double. Emily Rachal also had two hits.
Duran started and went four innings. She allowed four hits, struck out seven and walked one. Rachal didn’t allow a hit in three innings. She struck out six and walked one.
Airline is scheduled to visit Glenbrook Monday at 5.
At Parkway, eight Lady Panthers combined for 14 hits in the five-inning game. Zoey Horn had two doubles and two RBI. Macee Thompson had two hits, including a double, and two RBI.
Addison McCall had two hits and three RBI. Dakota Howard had two hits and two RBI.
Katie Giovengo and Mikayla West had two hits each.
Parkway (8-9, 2-5) is scheduled to visit Glenbrook Friday at 6.
