Bossier City Farmers Market Opening Day Postponed Due to Severe Weather Forecast

For the first time in its 10-year history, the Bossier City Farmers Market has postponed its highly anticipated Opening Day due to the threat of severe weather. Originally scheduled for Saturday, April 5, 2025, the event will now take place the following Saturday, April 12.

Organizers made the difficult decision in response to a forecast predicting 100% chance of thunderstorms, up to two inches of rain, and high winds, all of which pose serious safety risks for both vendors and visitors. While the market typically operates rain or shine, the severity of the expected weather prompted an abundance of caution.

The Bossier City Farmers Market is a beloved community tradition, drawing hundreds of visitors and featuring dozens of local vendors offering fresh produce, handmade goods, and local eats. Despite the postponement, the team remains optimistic and is looking forward to a strong turnout on April 12 for what will now be the official Season Opening Day.

Organizers are encouraging the public to help spread the word about the date change and are providing graphics and materials for use on social media and in local promotions.
