As churches across the region gathered to honor the resurrection of Jesus Christ, families and communities came together this Easter weekend to celebrate the spiritual meaning of the holiday while also enjoying festive traditions that brought smiles to the youngest believers.

Easter, the cornerstone of the Christian faith, commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, symbolizing hope, renewal, and the promise of eternal life. Churches throughout Bossier Parish marked the occasion with special worship services and community-centered events designed to share the message of love and fellowship.

Local congregations extended their outreach beyond the pulpit, inviting the public to join in a variety of fun-filled celebrations. Among them was Cypress Easter Family Day, held Saturday, April 19, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The event drew families of all sizes for an unforgettable morning packed with Easter egg hunts for children from babies to fifth grade, colorful face painting stations, exciting inflatables, and a variety of food trucks offering delicious bites. The family-friendly atmosphere reflected the spirit of community and joy that Easter represents.

At First Bossier Baptist Church, the annual Eggstravaganza 2025 also welcomed the public on Saturday, April 19. The event ran from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and was filled with Easter-themed activities, encouraging families to gather not just for fun, but also for reflection on the true meaning of the holiday.

Airline Baptist Church kicked off the weekend celebrations with its Churchwide Egg Hunt and Fellowship on Friday, April 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. Children ages 0–12 dashed through fields in search of colorful eggs while the scent of grilled hamburgers and hotdogs filled the air. More than just a hunt, the gathering served as a moment of connection among members of the congregation and the broader community.

Whether through sunrise services, joyful music, or egg hunts on sunlit church lawns, Easter in Bossier Parish is a reminder of renewal, unity, and the enduring hope at the heart of the resurrection story. For many families, it was a time not only to reflect on their faith but also to celebrate the gift of togetherness.
