The installation welcomes the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Hiring Our Heroes organization for a career development and hiring event June 25–26 at the BUFF Event Center. The two-day event is open to transitioning service members, veterans, military spouses and caregivers of wounded warriors, offering career readiness training as well as professional development and networking opportunities with employers actively hiring for positions both locally and nationwide.
Hiring Our Heroes, a nonprofit that assists transitioning service members, military spouses and veterans with finding meaningful careers, will feature the military spouse-focused Amplifyworkshop June 25, followed by a Career Summit and Hiring Fair for the broader military-connected community June 26. The Career Summit will also feature panel discussions, resume preparation sessions, complimentary headshots and access to resources such as LinkedIn training and information about fellowship opportunities and SkillBridge programs.
The Amplify workshop will take place 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. June 25, while the Career Summit and Hiring Fair will follow the next day 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. June 26. Both events are located at the BUFF Event Center, 155 Rickenbacker Ave, Barksdale AFB, LA 71110.
