Bossier Parish Schools extended a warm welcome to military families during its annual Military Family Information Night, held Tuesday, July 29, at the Bossier Instructional Center on Airline Drive.

From 5 to 7 p.m., the event served as an open door for both new and returning military-connected families to meet district leadership, engage with key school departments, and get their questions answered ahead of the new academic year. The evening was designed to ease the transition for military families relocating to the area, while also honoring their service.

Representatives from all corners of the district were present, including curriculum and instruction, transportation, student services, and more. Families also had the opportunity to learn about various student programs, extracurricular activities, and educational pathways available across Bossier Parish Schools.

In addition to district staff, community partners were on hand to share valuable resources and information about support services tailored to military families—from healthcare and housing to youth activities and veteran programs.

Bossier Schools is home to a significant number of military-connected students, many of whom are affiliated with nearby Barksdale Air Force Base. The district has been nationally recognized for its commitment to supporting military families and ensuring academic continuity for their children.

Tuesday night’s event reinforced that commitment and provided a sense of belonging and stability to families navigating their next chapter in Bossier Parish.
