High school cross country: Parkway’s Robin runner-up in Division I boys state meet; Airline’s Williams fifth; Parkway boys finish fourth in team competition

Parkway junior Brennan Robin finished runner-up in the Division I boys LHSAA Cross Country State Meet Monday In Natchitoches.

Robin covered the 3-mile course at Northwestern State in 15 minutes, 5.7 seconds. Jesuit senior Brady Monahan, the runner-up in 2023 and 2024, won in 14:59.7. Another Jesuit senior, Nick Accardo, was third in 15.28.3.

Airline senior Jayden Williams finished fifth in 15:25.6. Parkway senior Ben Ruliffson was 11th in 15:50.8.

Parkway finished fourth for the second straight year. The Panthers had 140 points.

Jesuit won the team title for the fifth year in a row with 29 points, placing five runners in the top 10.

Parkway was the top public school team in Division I. Brother Martin was second with 93 points and Catholic-Baton Rouge third with 105.

Robin has improved his position in the state meet every year. He finished 12th as a sophomore and fourth last year.

Other Parkway runners in the scoring were senior Noah Lafitte (35th, 16:42.8), junior Aiden O’Nishea (36th, 16:44.4) and freshman Braxton Thomas (60th, 17:32.8).

Airline finished 14th and Benton 19th.

Benton senior Claire Allen led parish runners in Division I girls with a 33rd-place finish in 20:14.9.

Benton junior Aaliyah Gonzalez was 36th in 20:25.2. Parkway freshman Caylee Weaver finished 41st in 20:42.0. Her teammate, sophomore Khaliyah Harris, was 44th in 20:46.2.

Northshore sophomore Grace Keene won in 17:21.7.

Parkway finished 14th in the team competition. Benton was 16th. Mt. Carmel won.

Bossier Junior Quinton Hodge finished 21st in the Division I boys race in 16:55.6. David Thibodaux senior Barrett Richard won in 15:38.1.

Other parish runners who finished in the top 100 in Division I boys were Airline senior Jordan Williams (58th), Benton sophomore Samuel Ivins (70th), Airline junior John Austin Bonney (71st), Parkway freshman Landon Champagne (78th), Parkway sophomore Isaac Ruliffson (81st) and Benton sophomore and Brice Warner (89th).

Benton freshman Cooper Sims finished 102nd. 170 runners posted times.

Other parish runners in the Division I girls top 100 were Haughton senior Clara Hicks (55th), Parkway senior Kiara Jackson (58th), Benton junior Maddox Cisneros (63rd) and Haughton sophomore Alyssa Giddings (65th). 166 runners posted times.
