High school boys basketball: Haughton routs Magnolia School of Excellence in season opener; PCA wins

The Haughton Bucs rolled to an 84-18 victory over Magnolia School of Excellence in their season opener Tuesday night at Haughton.

Ten Haughton players scored. James Alexander, Hayden Lippolis and D’Merrion Gladney led the Bucs with 12 points apiece. Jacob Attaway added 10.

Haughton knocked down 11 3-pointers. Carter Morgan, Carson Morgan, Henry Pyle and Gladney had two apiece.

Next up for Haughton is the Saline tournament which begins Thursday.

In another season opener, Plain Dealing fell to North Webster 63-14 in Springhill.

The Lions host Magnolia School of Excellence Thursday.

Providence Classical Academy picked up its first victory. The Knights defeated Converse 52-35 at PCA.

PCA (1-4) visits Cedar Creek Thursday.
