Benton finished second in the boys tournament and fourth in the girls in the Haughton Tournament Saturday at Haughton Middle School.
Teams from Louisiana, Texas and Arkansas competed in both tournaments. There were 15 boys and 12 girls teams.
There were 71 wrestlers in the girls tournament, 40 more than competed in the inaugural event last year.
Benton scored 148.5 points in the boys tournament. Rayne won with 211.5. Rosepine was third with 147, Byrd fourth with 123.5 and Parkway fifth with 120.5.
Benton scored 74 points in the girls tournament. Sylvan Hills, Ark., won with 139. Arkansas High was second with 128 and South Beauregard third with 89.5.
Pittsburg, Texas, was fifth with 73 and Haughton 6th with 61.
Five wrestlers from parish schools won titles — Parkway’s Christian Glentry (126 pounds), Dylan Mesloh (215) and Brody Leonhardt (285), and Benton’s Cayden Brammer (157) and Braden Jennings (175).
Benton’s Kannon Henry (113) and Daegen Moos (150), and Parkway’s Zayden Normandin (165) finished runner-up in their weight classes.
Haughton’s Satchel O’Nishea (113) and Will Haun (138) took third in their classes.
Benton’s Trapper Scott (138), Haughton’s Hunter Reeves (157), Benton’s Brian Le (165) and Parkway’s August Stoddard finished fourth in their classes.
Benton’s Caylee Brammer (120) and Audrina Wade (132) won their weight classes in the girls tournament.
Haughton’s Kylee McClave (100) and Darbi Karnowski (114) and Adelynn Miles (120), and Benton’s Valkyrie Ibarra finished runner-up in theirs.
Parkway’s Ashlyn Coffey was third at 107 pounds. Benton’s Emily Tindall was third at 114.
Parkway’s KeKe English was fourth at 138.
