Tuesday was a very good night for parish teams.
Parkway defeated Tioga 62-49 at Parkway, Haughton downed Florien 71-54 at Florien, Airline routed Ringgold 66-24 at Ringgold, Plain Dealing defeated North DeSoto 41-20 at Plain Dealing and Providence Classical Academy rolled past Magnolia School of Excellence 54-24 at PCA.
At Parkway, the Lady Panthers improved to 13-6 with their sixth straight victory. Tioga, No. 9 in the select Division I power rankings, dropped to 17-5
Zara Baker led Parkway with 27 points. Kenadie Loche had nine points and seven assists.
Parkway opens District 1-5A play next Tuesday against Huntington at Parkway.
At Florien, Haughton extended its winning streak to 16 games.
Aliyah Delaney and Skylar Branch led the Lady Bucs (18-5) with 24 and 22 points, respectively. Bella Hammond chipped in 15.
Delaney scored 10 and Branch six in the first quarter and Haughton led 21-14. The Lady Bucs extended the lead to 35-21 at the half. Branch scored seven and Hammond six in the second quarter.
Delaney scored nine in the third as Haughton continued to pull away, taking a 56-35 lead into the fourth.
JaLela Richardson led Florien (12-10) with 19 points.
Haughton hosts Natchitoches Central in a District 1-5A opener Friday.
At Ringgold, Nia Williams poured in 29 points to lead the Lady Vikings (7-9) to their third straight victory. Addison McDowell scored 16.
Airline opens District 1-5A play Friday at Byrd.
At Plain Dealing, Jakayla Douglas led the Lady Lions (8-10) with 20 points,
Sanaa Lyles added eight. Ka’Mariya Player and Lyberti Shaw scored six each.
Plain Dealing visits St. Mary’s Thursday.
At PCA, Adilynn DeLoach led the Lady Knights (15-11) with 23 points. Lauren Hillman hit two 3-pointers and scored 12 points. Ella Grace Richardson also scored 12.
PCA hosts Weston Thursday.
