When rivals Bossier and Huntington meet, the games are usually tight and often go down to the wire.

That wasn’t the case Tuesday night. The Bearkats rolled past the Raiders 78-58 at Bossier.

Bossier (12-6) avenged a 62-58 loss at Huntington on Dec. 27.

In the first half it did look like it was going to be a typical game in the rivalry as the Raiders took a 34-30 lead.

But the Bearkats took control in the third quarter with a 23-7 run and led 53-41 going into the fourth. Bossier continued to roll in the final period.

The Bearkats outscored the Raiders 48-24 in the second half.

DT Thomas led seven Bossier players who scored with 21 points. JD Davis added 16.

TJ Bunnery scored 11 of his 15 points in the second half. Braylon Robinson had 12, including a pair of 3-pointers.

Free throws were key for the Bearkats, who were 16-of-19 from the line.

Payton Parker hit six 3-pointers and led Huntington (10-6) with 23 points. JD McDonald and Austin Turner scored 10 each.
