College baseball: BPCC splits doubleheader against Panola

The Bossier Parish Community College Cavaliers split a doubleheader against Panola College Wednesday in Carthage, Texas.

The Cavaliers won the first game 9-5 and lost the second 10-2. BPCC is 14-7 overall and 2-5 in Region XIV North.

The Cavs had seven hits and drew 11 walks in the first game. Mason Sanders went 2-for-4 with a double.

Collin Harris hit a grand slam home run in the top of the fifth to give BPCC a 6-4 lead. RIley Kwak hit a solo home run, Former Benton standout Bryson Pierce drew three walks.

Former Parkway star Trent Lape started on the mound. He allowed four hits and struck out three In three innings. Chase Randall didn’t allow a hit in the final 1 1/3 innings.

The Cavs had nine hits in the second game. Gianluca Montanaro went 3-for-3 with a double. Haden  Peshoff and Kwak had one double each.

Pierce started and went three innings.

Panola’s Kade Crawford went 3-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI. Chris Guzaldo went 4-for-4.

Panola is 14-6 overall and 2-3 in the conference.
