Shreveport Aquarium and Sci-Port Discovery Center have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a cooperative partnership focused on advancing science education, conservation literacy, tourism and family engagement across the region.
This new collaboration brings together two of Northwest Louisiana’s leading educational attractions to create more impactful, hands-on learning experiences for residents and visitors alike. By aligning programming, sharing resources, and cross-promoting initiatives, both organizations aim to strengthen their role as key drivers of STEM learning and destination tourism in downtown Shreveport.
“This partnership represents an exciting step forward for our community,” said Jon Whitehead, Founding Partner of Shreveport Aquarium. “By working together, we can create richer, more engaging experiences that inspire curiosity, support conservation awareness, and make Shreveport an even stronger destination for families.”
To kick off the partnership, Shreveport Aquarium and Sci-Port will celebrate Earth Month with a series of three collaborative events, designed to highlight environmental stewardship and the importance of protecting our natural world.

“This partnership allows us to expand our reach and impact,” said Dianne Clark, Executive Director of Sci-Port Discovery Center. “Together, we can inspire more families to explore science in fun and meaningful ways while highlighting the importance of protecting our environment.”
Both organizations anticipate additional joint programming, educational initiatives, and potential ticketing collaborations in the future as the partnership evolves.
