Louisiana Bankers Association Elects 2026-2027 Officers, Board Members

Jason D. Smith, president and CEO of Bonvenu Bank in Bossier City, was installed as the 2026-2027 chairman of the LBA Board of Directors during LBA’s 126th Convention.

Smith succeeds Michael R. Vizard, chairman and CEO of Cross Keys Bank, a Division of Planters Bank, in St. Joseph. As outgoing LBA chairman, Vizard will continue to serve for one year as immediate past chairman on the LBA Board of Directors.

Other new 2026-2027 LBA officers and director are: 

  • Chairman-Elect H. Brooks Lewis of Citizens Bank and Trust Company in Plaquemine
  • Treasurer Anthony Kip Bertrand of Washington State Bank
  • At-Large Member Shannon Scott of Bank of Louisiana in Metairie

Delegates to the LBA convention elected these new directors:

  • South Central Region Charles J. Plaisance of State Bank and Trust in Golden Meadow
  • Southeast Region Elizabeth B. Hefler of Hancock Whitney Bank in New Orleans
  • Southeast Region John P. LeBlanc of Metairie Bank and Trust Company

Other LBA directors continuing to serve for the upcoming year are: 

  • Acadiana Region Joseph Zanco of Catalyst Bank in Opelousas
  • Capitol Region Benjamin Cavin of Landmark Bank in Clinton
  • Central Region John Ackel of City Bank and Trust in Natchitoches
  • Northeast Region Howard Dee Smith of WSB in Winnsboro
  • Northwest Region Kyle D. Kennington of Community Bank of Louisiana in Stonewall
  • Southwest Region Troy G. Kibodeaux of Farmers State Bank and Trust in Church Point
  • Ginger Laurent, LBA CEO
