Parkway rising senior wide receiver Gary Burney Jr. has verbally committed to LSU, according to multiple media reports.
The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Burney had committed to Houston on May 30 after making an official visit there. He subsequently received an offer from LSU and made an official visit there last weekend.
Burney icaught 76 passes for 1,267 yards and 15 touchdowns last season, helping Parkway go 11-2 and reach the quarterfinals of the non-select Division I playoffs.
He was a first-team All-District 1-5A and All-Parish selection. He is a three-star prospect, according to 247Sports, and ranked as the No. 22 overall prospect in the state by Rivals.
Burney is the fourth wide receiver in the Class of 2027 to commit to LSU and the 14th player overall.
He is also a member of Parkway’s basketball and track and field teams.
