On Tuesday, September 1, the Bossier Chamber of Commerce hosted Judge Michael Nerren and Judge Jeff Thompson as part of their Public Policy Series, presented by Willis Knighton Health.
The two Bossier judges gave a comprehensive update about the judiciary system and answered numerous questions from the business community. Judge Nerren gave an overview of a day in the life of a Bossier judge, of which there are only 6 judges who serve Bossier and Webster Parishes in the 26th Judicial District Court.
Bossier Parish is one of the only Parishes with a judge on-call during the weekend and 24/7 throughout the week, a fact that might explain the impressive number of completed cases in our Parish. Bossier also runs one of the most successful drug programs in the state of Louisiana.

The Bossier Chamber’s Public Policy series aims to inform and connect Bossier Chamber members with officials at the federal and state levels through educational events. These events allow attendees to hear from experts about what’s really going on in Louisiana’s government and policies, learn about how our tax dollars are being spent and where changes have been taking place.
Two more Public Policy Series events are scheduled for October 15 and October 19 this year. The Transportation Symposium on October 15 will feature a forum of state, regional, and local transportation experts. October 19 will be the Legislative Wrap-Up with Will Green, President/CEO of LABI.
