High school cross country: Bossier’s Hodge wins boys race in Byrd meet; PCA’s Ivey runner-up in girls race

Bossier’s Quinton Hodge won the boys race and Providence Classical Academy’s Kaylee Ivey finished second in the girls in the CE Byrd XC Fall Invitational meet Saturday.

Hodge covered the 3-mile course at the South Bossier Recreational Complex in 15 minutes, 59.40 seconds. Byrd’s John Ferguson was second in 16:21.10.

Other runners from Bossier Parish schools in the top 10 were Parkway’s Javaria Flournoy (4th, 16:35.40), Bossier’s Braxton Bohanan (5th, 17:24.80) and PCA’s Henry Carroll (8th, 17:40.70).

The boys race featured 57 runners.

Four teams posted scores. Byrd won with 26 points and Parkway was second with 52.

Ivey ran an 18:34.00 in the girls race. Byrd’s Isabel Wooley won in 18:25.30.

Parkway’s Phoebe Alamos was eighth in 22:15.59.

The girls race had 46 runners.

Byrd won the team title with 19 points and Parkway was second with 66.
