The Academy of Children’s Theatre will open it’s 2014-2015 season with its production of Little House on the Prairie.

The production will run Nov. 1, Nov. 7-8, at 7:00 and Nov. 2 and Nov. 9 at 2:00 at East Bank Theatre in Bossier City.
This dramatic adaptation of the Laura Ingalls Wilder book will continue their popular Children’s Literature Series which was begun by the company’s director, Cynthia Hawkins Whitaker in 2006 with Little Women. Other shows in the series have included Pollyanna, Tom Sawyer, A Little Princess, and The Lion, the Witch, and The Wardrobe.
Whitaker says,”As a teacher for 23 years, I saw that children were not reading the classics. I felt by adapting the books for the stage it might make the great children’s novels more appealing and encourage them to read the books. The series has been very successful, and we have sold out and held over the last three shows. Little House is a wonderful wholesome story of pioneer life in America in the late 1800s with an emphasis on the importance of family and overcoming hardships.”

Tickets are $15.00 and reservations can be made and are strongly suggested by calling 318-212-2822. The show is written and directed by Cynthia Hawkins Whitaker with sets by Justin Williams and costumes by Sara Archer.
The cast includes Mike Martindale , Catherine Elston, Alex Wallace, Colby Ewert, Genevieve Carmody, Caroline Sample, Kennedy Marrs, and Maddie Tinsley.
