AEP/SWEPCO Shreveport office employee diagnosed with COVID-19


According to a news release/email the Bossier Press-Tribune newsroom just received just from AEP/SWEPCO Shreveport office Director of Communications Carey A. Sullivan, an employee at SWEPCO’s downtown Shreveport office has been diagnosed with COVID-19 and is quarantined.

AEP/SWEPCO states that the safety and health of their employees is their top priority as the company continues to serve its customers during this outbreak.

As such, most of the companies downtown Shreveport employees will be working from home until further notice.

AEP/SWPCO says that it is coordinating with local and national health officials as the company works to identify the employee’s close work contacts. Specific guidance will be given to those individuals.

SWEPCO and its parent company American Electric Power have been monitoring the spread of COVID-19 and taking action steps such as cleaning work areas, restricting business travel and meetings, and limiting visitors to AEP facilities.

AEP/SWEPCO is following Center for Disease Control guidance in its consultation with company doctors and in providing information to employees.
