Airline, Benton claim state archery titles

Airline won the Archery in Louisiana Schools high school state championship last week at LSU Alexandria.
Airline scored 3,208 points to 3,163 for runner-up Caddo Magnet.

Benton finished fourth with 3,108. Parkway was seventh and Bossier 10th.

Benton and Haughton finished 1-2 in the Middle School Division. Benton scored 3,416 points to 3,279 for Haughton. Cope was fourth with 3,173.

Benton won the ALAS 3-D state high school title with 1,341 points. Parkway was fifth with 1,244.
Benton’s No. 1 and No. 2 teams finished 1-2 in the 3-D Middle School division.

Benton Elementary won both the ALAS regular and 3-D state titles. Kingston was third and Princeton fifth in the regular tournament. Kingston took third in the 3-D division.

Airline’s Hunter Sullivan finished second in the high school individual competition in the regular tournament with 287 points, three behind winner Nathan Delill of Buckeye.

Benton’s Aidan Haire, Anna Robins and Kaitlyn Masters finished 1-2-3 in the Middle School division.
Benton’s Drew Martin was first in the Elementary Division, Luke Tynes of W.T. Lewis second and Makenzie Puckett of Benton third.

Benton had the top seven finishers in the 3-D Middle School tournament led by Haire with 283 points.
Kingston’s Thomas Allen won the 3-D Elementary division and Martin was second.
