The Airline boys and Parkway girls won District 1-5A cross country championships Saturday at Camp Forbing.
Parkway’s Alison Ringle and Hayden Kingfisher swept the individual titles.
Ringle, the Class 5 A state runner-up last year, covered the three-mile course in 18 minutes, 30 seconds to easily win the girls’ division. Kingfisher ran a 15:47.00, finishing 20 seconds ahead of runner-up Daniel Tanner of Byrd. Airline’s Jack Wilkes was third in 16:37.
Parkway posted a perfect score of 15 in the girls’ division as its top five runners finished 1-5.
Sara Funderburk was second (19:53), Ariel McGaffey third (20:36), Jayni Wilcher fourth (20:38) and Jessica McGuffee fifth (20:39).
Parkway actually took eight of the top 10 spots. Destiny McGaffey finished sixth (21:08), Cassidy Cummings seventh (21:29) and Rylie McConnell ninth (22:04).
Haughton’s Hannah Logan was eighth (21:45) and teammate Britnee Bolden 11th (22:26).
Airline finished second with 79 points followed by Byrd (82), Haughton (89) and Caddo Magnet (105).
Maya Randle led Airline with a 14th-place finish in 22:43. Teammate Wendy Torres finished 15th in 23:40.
Airline scored 38 points in the boys’ division with four runners in the top eight led by Wilkes. The Vikings finished 10 points ahead of Parkway.
Airline’s Jase Thaxton was fifth (17:25), Sam Kelly seventh (17:27) and Kaleb Sahlie eighth (17:34). Walter Haacker also finished in the scoring with a 15th-place finish in 18:15.
Parkway runners in the scoring were Kingfisher, Nathan Poovey (sixth, 17:26), Jacob Hammons (11th, 17:49), Simon Moradel (14th) and D.J. Morgan 16th (18:21).
The Class 5A state meet is a week from Tuesday at Northwestern State University.
