Airline freshmen keep perfect record intact

The Airline Vikings  kept their perfect freshman season intact with a 36-9 victory over the Haughton Buccaneers on Monday at Airline Stadium.
In another freshman game, Benton fell to Minden 33-12.
In junior varsity action reported to The Press-Tribune, Airline edged Haughton 26-20 and Benton downed Minden 20-0.
Airline 36, Haughton 9: Noah Hildebrand ran for one touchdown and passed for another as Airline raised its record to 7-0.
Bryan Fielding scored two rushing touchdowns for the Vikings and a two-point conversion. Harvey Calhoun caught the touchdown pass. D’Kameron White scored a conversion.
Josh James intercepted two passes and returned one for a touchdown. Steven Rainey and Phillip Lee also had interceptions.
Haughton’s touchdown came on a pass from Jonathan Plant to Colt Shankle. Nico Broadway kicked a 36-yard field goal. The Bucs dropped to 4-3.

Junior varsity

Airline 26, Haughton 20: Thomas McKain threw two touchdown passes to Hayden Waxley in the Vikings’ victory.
Frank Winn had a rushing touchdown, and Nathan Naranjo kicked a field goal.
Airline also got a safety on a blocked punt.
Haughton’s Hunter Hunsucker threw a 29-yard touchdown pass to Matthew Davis on a busted field goal attempt.
Hunsucker also caught a 4-yard TD pass from Brad Rachal after Brayden Wise recovered an Airline fumble.
Darius Brooks connected with Davis for a 3-yard touchdown to get the Bucs with six with 2:34 left in the game.
Benton 20, Minden 0: Keishaun McMillian scored on runs of 65 and 4 yards to lead the Tigers. He also threw a conversion pass to Cody Ratliff.
Trent Harrison scored from 4 yards out.
