America is at war and one of the battles being fought in that war is the battle over gay rights.
The outcome of this battle may very well determine what kind of a country we are going to be. Will the forces of light or darkness win this battle over special rights based on sexually deviant behavior? America is going to have to choose between homosexuality and religious freedom. There is no middle ground. This clash is a zero-sum game. Somebody wins and somebody loses.
Every advance of the homosexual agenda comes at the expense of religious liberty. Americans want to believe otherwise, that the right to gay sex and the right to religious liberty can co-exist, but they can’t. Everywhere Big Gay gains ground, Christians are forced into retreat.
America’s future hangs in the balance as this cultural conflict rages on, day after day. Whether America continues to be a “shining city on a hill” will almost certainly be determined by the outcome of this battle. Will America be a beacon for faith, family and freedom? If the forces of sexual normalcy and natural marriage prevail, America will continue to model God’s plan for the world. And what is God’s plan? The traditional family. Traditional marriage–one man and one woman. It is the staple of civilization. If the forces of sexual deviancy prevail, every part of our culture will be corrupted and contaminated beyond repair and American will plunge into a moral abyss of darkness and depravity.
A perfect example of what happens when sodomy wins is the soul-crushing tyranny being imposed on some of the wedding vendors in America. Christian bakers who refuse to bow to the Gay Gestapo now face fines and jail time. Their offense? Politely declining to bake a cake for Bill and Bob’s wedding reception.
Tammy Bruce, a lesbian writer, makes perfect sense when she says a baker who is forced to render service against his or her will is being exposed to a barely disguised form of slavery, and to be forced to do so against his or her conscience is nothing less than abject tyranny.
Religious principle, tolerance and rights of conscience mean nothing to the pro-sodomy crowd. They will ruthlessly crush anyone and anything standing in their path. They will do it without mercy and will not give it a second thought. In their quest for cultural domination, they will relentlessly extinguish the light of sexual normalcy and morality, as well as the light of Christianity. They have the desire and the will to crush biblical Christianity into millions of pieces. Right now, they lack the power, but, depending on the outcome of this battle, that may change.
Religious liberty is at the core of what America is all about. Religious liberty is the value that has set us apart from every other nation in the world. This country was founded by people who were seeking to escape the bonds of an oppressive king and establish a brave new world where religious freedom trumped everything. They wanted the freedom to worship God and serve Him in daily life according to the dictates of their conscience. That’s why the very first amendment to the Constitution says, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the FREE EXERCISE thereof…”
The free exercise of religion means exactly that. It is the freedom to live out your faith, not just on Sunday mornings, between eleven and noon, but 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. That includes the freedom to run your business according to Christian principles.
Without religious liberty, America is not America. It is something else. It is something alien. It is something foreign. It is something Washington and Jefferson would not even recognize. Washington drummed homosexuals out of the Continental Army. Jefferson wrote a Virginia law in 1778 that called for castration as the penalty for sodomy. The concept of the acceptability of same-sex marriage would have been inconceivable to the men who founded this country.
The LGBT lobby wants to push Christians into retreat. They want followers of Jesus Christ to never dare poke their heads out of their church buildings. This is the spirit of Hitler, a maniac who bottled up the Christians of his day inside the four walls of their churches. His fevered mind produced a propaganda machine which concocted slogans such as “Politics do not belong in the church” and “The church must be separate from the state.” He pushed those ideas in an effort to neuter Christians and paralyze the Church’s ability to resist his totalitarian impulses.
The gay rights battle is not over constitutional rights—religion, speech, the press, assembly and self-defense. Those are rights that must be protected for everyone. The battle is over SPECIAL rights. You can read the Constitution backwards and forwards, side to side, left to right and you will find no mention whatsoever of any right to engage in sexual perversion. You will find no mention of the right to compel others to, against their deeply held convictions, endorse, promote, sanction or approve of immoral, unnatural and unhealthy sexual behavior.
It was Winston Churchill who said, “If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope for victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.”
The time to stand against Big Gay, the homosexual war machine, is now. Today, the battle can be won. Tomorrow, there may be no hope for victory. If that’s the case, I’d rather perish than live as a slave to a perverse ideology that is anti-God and anti-American.
Ed Baswell pastors The Clarion Church and is the host of Crossfire Radio, weekdays from 7-9 am, on The Promise, 90.7 FM. The show is streamed live worldwide at promisetalkradio.org and at ktbs.com. It can be seen each day on the KTBS 24-hour, digital news channel.
Now THIS is what a privilege tantrum looks like. Poor Pastor Baswell is having the mother of all hissy fits because the world is passing him by.
Wow, hyperbole much. For clarification baking a cake is not an infringement of religious liberty.
I disagree with both the two comments that have, so far, been posted.
I submit, that forcing, a baker, to bake a cake, for a gay wedding “IS”, i fact, & in principal,a violation of the right, of any religious person to live in accordance with their religious beliefs, as is guaranteed in the first amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
Specifically,..The baking of a wedding cake, for a “gay” wedding, entails the use of “imagery” that is in violation of some, beliefs, & values, of ,some religions…That is to say, ..that the making of such cake, requires the placing of “images” in the form of little “statues” on the cake. Such statues, representing the two people, of the same sex, who are “marrying” represent a “ritual”, that is in violation of the , deeply held , religious beliefs of some. And therefore, forcing any caterer to provide such imagery, is to “force” that caterer to actively contribute to, & thereby, participate in, & thereby encourage that “ritual”, which runs counter to that caterer’s religious convictions, Hence, therefor, to use governmental “power” to “enforce” participation, on any level, in what a particular caterer, might consider to be a “sinful” ritual, is in fact, clearly, a violation of the right any person, to live in accordance, with their religious precepts.
Taking this matter one step further,..Those who wish to purchase, such a cake, can easily get the item that they wish, from another source, which would welcome their business, So, it is not as if, they are being, in some way, “deprived” of having the item that the wish.
To my way of thinking, the, so called, “gay” community, is being, very hypocritical, on this issue,..First, all that they wanted was,..”equality”as to “freedom of choice as to how to live their lives, & now that, that they have that choice, they are trying to push their agenda down the throats, of any, & all, who would, only, wish the right, to NOT , get involved in any way, with any “gay” rituals,..
Now some, gay types, have gone so far as to claim, that “IF” a baker can refuse to bake a cake, then, that will lead to ambulances refusing to carry, gays,..Oh, please, give me a break,.. This sort of red herring just goes to show, how low, these gay types are willing to go to push their vile little agenda,..
I hope to see the day when we, In the western world, get our heads on straight, & a backlash will occur & we begin to treat homosexuality, for what it is,..& that will we, will, collectively realize the atrocity, of allowing gays to adopt children as the insane notion that it is.
Bottom line, being, Gays have absolutely NO right to force anyone to be a part of any of their rituals, & any business, has the right to opt out of entering into any contractual arrangement that violates it’s ethical or religious standards, just as medical persons have a right not to participate in abortions, or assisted suicide or circumcisions, whether of the male,or female variety.
In short, No reasonable end is served, by using the force of law, to force anyone to provide any service, against their will, when that is readily available elsewhere, from a “WILLING” provider, for down THAT road, lies tyranny,..
.. .. .
., .
So basically what you are saying is that if you are stopped from persecuting people who have no effect on you whatsoever you are being discriminated against? See what you have done there is gone and mixed up religious privilege with religious rights.
I can’t imagine your “God” approving of this despicable bigotry you loathsome excuse of a human being.
This person is a nasty Homo sapien. Just to educate him – homosexual activity is common in nature and many species display homosexual activity. It is one of the many natural differences between people. One is born hetero or homosexual, one does not choose to become homosexual. Giving gays and lesbians equal rights has no negative effect on my marriage at all. In fact it makes me happy that America is becoming more civilized.
