ANECA Federal sharing the love with #theANECAway campaign
Mondays are hard for most people, especially when the weather is cold and rainy.
To combat the cold and the rain, ANECA Federal Credit Union showed up at Southfield Grill on Benton Road in Bossier City and bought customers their lunch. From 11 a.m. -12:30 p.m. ANECA Federal paid for everyone’s orders.

As their meal was paid for they were given a small card that said, “Compliments of ANECA…Pay it Forward #theANECAway,” as well as a suggestion for a way for them to pay it forward, such as “Plant a tree,” “Send someone a hand-written thank you note,” “Put money in someone else’s parking meter,” “Open a door for a stranger,” and “Pick up lunch for a busy coworker.”
At ANECA Federal, we want to encourage everyone to pay it forward and do something nice for someone every day. With our #theANECAway campaign we hope to spark this way of thinking in the local community and promote doing acts of kindness for others.
We encouraged customers to use our campaign slogan and social media hashtag, #theANECAway.

ANECA Federal decided to take on the pay-it-forward idea after seeing America’s Credit Union/World Credit Union Conference’s “People Helping People” campaign. Their campaign used cards that feature the hashtag #theCUway, which, according to an article written by the Credit Union national Association, is the hashtag “Kansas Credit Union Association coined as part of its highly successful statewide awareness and community service efforts.”
Monday’s event was the fourth time ANECA Federal has spread their #theANECAway pay-it-forward campaign, and we plan on showing up again in a random location next month to pay it forward with another act of kindness. No one will know of our next location until the day of the event in an effort to keep things a surprise.
Until then, ANECA Federal hopes everyone will pay-it-forward with random acts of kindness by continuing the movement and being kind to others.
