Margaritaville Resort Casino is partnering with animal rescues for the first annual Paws in Paradise Saturday in Bossier City.
The animal adoption and fundraising event will help fund and provide an adoption opportunity for more than a dozen local 501c3 rescues. The event will take place in the north parking lot of Margaritaville on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Christy Wood, Advertising & Publicity Manager for Margaritaville Resort Casino, said the event was developed from the company’s desire to give back to the community.
“We always wanted to do something, but there wasn’t anything big that we could participate in,” Wood explained. “We decided it would be best if we organized our own event.”
The goal is to not only raise funds that will benefit local rescue, but to raise adoption awareness as well.
“As a group of animal lovers, Margaritaville is excited to put on an event that will benefit the local rescue community,” Barry Regula, Senior Vice President and General Manager said. “We’re looking forward to raising money and helping local animals in need find their fur-ever homes.”
The family-friendly event will be filled with food, drawings, face painting, an animal costume contests and low-cost microchipping for the public to take part in. Margaritaville will also be selling Paws in Paradise t-shirts for $15, all proceeds will be donated to a local animal rescue group.
“We wanted to do as much as we can to raise money,” Wood said of the day’s events.
There will also be a special appearance by Braveheart, the dog that was at the center of an animal cruelty case in 2013. For more information, visit the Paws in Paradise event page on Facebook.
