Area first responders honored for outstanding service

The Spirit of Bossier Exchange Club honored local first responders over the weekend for outstanding service in their respective roles.

The community-service club presented the Law Enforcement Officer of the Year award for 2014 to Sgt. Rebecca Watts with the Bossier Sheriff’s Office. The group also honored Capt. Brian Lindberg, South Bossier Parish Fire District #2, for outstanding service as a first responder during a ceremony at a park adjacent to First United Methodist Church in Bossier City Saturday.

Members of Bossier High School AFJROTC posted colors at the event. Bossier Sheriff’s Posse members Jim Allbriton and Jerry Frentress took fingerprints of children and gave them to parents as a security measure.
