Arno Richard Mason USAF Lt. Col., Retired


Arno Richard Mason USAF Lt. Col., Retired, was born Sept. 5, 1921 in Council Bluffs, Iowa and raised in Omaha, Nebraska.

He  died April 22, 2014 at the age of 92.

1987 he was proceeded in death by  his wife, Bea of 38 years.

He is survived by two daughters, Laura Baker and Joan Howell and  one  son, Rick Mason and  3 grandchildren, Chris and Greg Baker and Rebecca Howell.

He is survived by a brother, Verl and a sister, Gloria.

He retired in 1977 after 35 years in the Air Force. His duties included extensive travel.

After retirement he made Bossier City his home. He worked at Louisiana Downs Race track from it’s opening for over 20 years.

He never encountered a crossword puzzle or a bingo game he didn’t enjoy.
