Asbury UMC to host Performing Arts Camp

Asbury United Methodist Church in Bossier City will host Asbury Arts’ Summer Performing Arts Camp, taking place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on July 6-10 for ages K-6th. The camp will culminate in a performance of the musical “iAM” on July 10th at noon.

Students will perform and prepare a contemporary Christian children’s musical entitled “iAM”. Students will also immerse themselves in a performing arts education with subject matter covering music, theatre arts, drama, stage performance, improvisation, dance and choreography. Beginners are welcome! No prior knowledge or performance experience is required.

The program is directed by Marcie Ellen Ratcliff. Ratcliff is currently Director of Youth and Children’s Music at Asbury United Methodist Church. She also owns and operates her own music studio, Marcie Ellen Studio, offering music lessons for all ages,and also serves as Talented Music Instructor, for Bossier Parish’ Talented Arts Program. “We are excited to teach the Word of God through music and The Arts! What better way to introduce the love of God to our children than through the gift of music? This will be an exciting production filled with fun, laughter, and great music!” says Ratcliff.

Registration is now open! The cost of registration is $75. Registration includes camp T-shirt and all production costs. Registrants may register online @ asburybossier.org. Click the

“Happenings” link at the top, and follow the links to register. You may also register in person at Asbury United Methodist Church, front office located at, 3200 Airline Dr., Bossier City, LA 71111 with cash or check for payment. Payment is due at the time of registration.
