Asbury United Methodist Church will host, Asbury Arts’ Summer Performing Arts Camp, taking place from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. July 7-11. The camp will culminate in a performance of the musical “Oh, Jonah” on July 11 at noon.
Students will cultivate an educational experience by immersing themselves in subject areas such as drama, stage performance, improvisation, dance/choreography, diction, music theory, ear-training and aural skills. Prior knowledge is not a requirement, as all students will commence with the fundamentals of a beginner.
The program will be guided by Marcie Ellen Ratcliff as Artistic Director, and Laura Beeman-Nugent as Director of Dance & Choreography. Ratcliff is currently Assistant to Music Ministries at Asbury United Methodist Church as well Vocal Music Instructor, for Bossier Parish’ Talented Arts Program and Beeman-Nugent serving as the Artistic Director for the Shreveport Little Theatre Academy. “Together, we will create an exciting and intellectually invigorating environment where all students are free to be themselves and explore their own creativity,” says Ratcliff.

Registration is now open — the cost of registration is $75 until July 1, after July 1 cost is $80. Registration includes camp T-shirt. Registrants may call Asbury United Methodist front office at (318) 746-5349 to register by phone. When registering please note, payment for your child is due on or before July 7, 2014, first day of camp. Payments will be accepted as students arrive. Or one may register at Asbury United Methodist Church front office, with complete payment (check or cash) located at, 3200 Airline Dr., Bossier City.
