AT&T Employees Provide A “Heavy Lift” at Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana
A group of community-minded AT&T employees today helped benefit the local community by sorting almost 16,000 pounds of food, while also collecting nearly 600 pounds themselves.
This is the third year local AT&T employees have supported the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana, which is the largest distributor of donated food for the seven parish area – and one of only five food banks in the entire state of Louisiana.
“The average passenger car weighs 3,000 pounds, so it stands to reason that our volunteers today moved and distributed the total weight of at least 5 automobiles … benefiting men, women and children all across our local communities,” said David Aubrey, director of external affairs for AT&T. “What a great way to not only ring in the holiday season, but also give back to the communities in which we all live, work and play. Thank you to our dedicated employees, as well as to the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana, which helps so many every single day.”
