The Bossier Parish Community College Theatre Program and the Cavalier Players announce auditions for the cast of the Broadway musical, Peter Pan. The show is musical adaptation of J.M. Barrie’s 1940 play Peter Pan and Barrie’s own novelization of it, Peter and Wendy.
Auditions will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, August 17 and 18, 2015 in the Performing Arts Theatre, Building C on the BPCC Campus (6220 East Texas Street in Bossier City).
Dr. Ray Scott Crawford, Dean of Communication and Performing Arts, will direct this timeless classic musical that whisks you away to a place where dreams are born and no one ever grows up! Peter Pan is one of the most beloved and frequently performed family favorites of all time. This high-flying TONY Award-winning musical has been performed around the world and delighted audiences for 60 years. Peter and his mischievous fairy sidekick Tinkerbell visit the nursery of the Darling children late one night and with a sprinkle of pixie dust begin a magical journey across the stars that none of them will ever forget. In the adventure of a lifetime the travelers come face to face with a ticking crocodile, a fierce Indian tribe, a band of bungling pirates, and of course the villainous Captain Hook.
All roles are available except Captain Hook. Those auditioning should prepare a one-minute contemporary monologue and a short musical selection. Please bring sheet music. Readings and singing selections will be provided for those who do not bring their own. Scripts are available for overnight checkout at the BPCC Theatre Program.
Show dates for Peter Pan are set for 7:30 p.m. October 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, 24 and at 2:00 p.m. October 18 and 25.
