Build/Update Your Website: (Saturday, May 31st, 1pm-3pm) A strong digital presence is a MUST in todays world. BAC’s staff is here to help you either create or update your website. This working class will be dedicated to uploading current images, artist statement, biography, and resume. If you are creating your website we will be utilizing WordPress.
All classes are free with a Bossier Arts Council Membership $25. Memberships are good for 12 months from the date paid. Classes are held in the Artist One Stop at BAC, 630 Barksdale Blvd. Call 318-741-8310 or email Leigh Anne at leigh@bossierarts.org to register.
Call for digital artists
The Bossier Arts Council announced today a Call for Digital Artists for their Annual DigiFest South (September 16th-18th). Aimed at showcasing a variety of digital art genres made possible by the latest technologies categories will include the following:
– Art Film
– Animation
– Interactive/Webiste/App
– Digital Photography
– Architectural/Drafting
– Graphics
– High School Students
– College/University Students
There will be an entry fee of $15 per submission, limit of 2 submissions per artist category. Prizes will be awarded, determined by judges. First place winners in each category will be part of a group exhibition sponsored by the Shreveport Regional Arts Council at their location, Art Station.
Arts Fund grant applications now available
The Bossier Arts Council announced today that DAF grant applicationsare now available at www.bossierarts.org. The Louisiana Decentralized Arts Fund Program (DAF), initiated in 1995, makes the arts available in every parish in the State of Louisiana by providing grant funding for artists, nonprofit organizations, community groups, and local government agencies. Applications can be submitted by an Bossier Parish organization or resident that meets the qualifications of an Arts Activity. All applications will be due Thursday, May 29th. The Louisiana Division of the Arts in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council is the catalyst for participation, education, development, and promotion of excellence in the arts by overseeing the DAF program and implementing plans of the Office of the Lieutenant Governor’s Department of Culture, Recreation, and Tourism.
Seeking Sunday Speakers
The Bossier Arts Council is requesting submissions for their Saturday Speaker Series held the last Saturday of each month at the Gallery Fine Arts Center (2151 Airline Dr.). The goal of the project is to highlight our community members who work in the art of storytelling, literary artists, or engaging speakers on the topics of arts, culture, or our community. Those interested in participating should send the following items to leigh@bossierarts.org by June 30.
