Getting children ready to go back to school can be expensive, but thanks to Northpoint Community Church, help is on the way for families throughout Bossier Parish needing assistance.

Free school supplies and uniforms will be available at a Back-to-School Outreach being held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 23 in the Plantation Park Elementary gymnasium, located at 2410 Plantation Drive in Bossier City. All Bossier Parish families in need are welcome.

“So many community sponsors are coming together in support of this great cause,” said Ashley Santos, a Bossier Schools employee and member of Northpoint Community Church. “We have over 200 volunteers ready to serve our community.”

Anyone with a child attending school in Bossier Parish is welcome to attend. Uniforms and supplies will be distributed to the first 1,000 families. Proof of residency will need to be shown and children must accompany their parent. The media is encouraged to help Bossier Schools publicize this event to reach families that can use the help.

Community sponsors will also be providing free hot dogs and chips. A special thanks goes out to Porter’s Cleaners for cleaning all uniforms that were donated for the Northpoint Community Church Back-to-School Outreach.

Bossier Schools extends its gratitude to partners like Northpoint Community Church for helping our children get started on the right foot the first day of school.
