BOSSIER CITY – Beloved daughter, granddaughter and sister went to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, January 13, 2014. Barbara was born on April 4, 1945 in Vivian, LA to Sidney and Gladys Parrott.
Barbara was member of The Pentecostals of Bossier. She had a love for missionaries and supported them faithfully. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and studying the Bible.
Barbara graduated from North Caddo High School in 1964 and from Northwestern State College in 1969. She retired from Caddo Parish School Board in 1999 upon completion of 30 years in the classroom. She taught Reading and Language Arts.
A Celebration of Life Service for Barbara Elaine Parrott will be held on Friday, January 17, 2014 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Jerry Dean, Pastor of The Pentecostals of Bossier, will be officiating the service. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held on Friday at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel from 1:00 until time of service.
She was preceded in death by mother, Gladys Parrott; father, Sidney L. Parrott; brother, Michael Glenn Parrott; grandparents, Avery and Cleo Stanfield and Ambrose and Ada Parrott.
Barbara is survived by her sisters, Patricia Barnhill of Shreveport, LA, Eleanor Powell of Vivian, LA and brother Sidney Lynn Parrott of Vivian, LA and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Honoring Barbara as pallbearers will be: Charles Goss, Gary Hubbard, David McGee, Lynn McNemar, Ray Welch and Joe Woodard. Honorary pallbearers will be Barbara’s nephews, Jay, Jeff, William, Jeffrey and Blake.
