Barbara Joyce (Crayne) Marcum, 85, of Bossier City, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024. She was born on August 3, 1938, in Carmi, Illinois, the daughter of the late Arlie and Hazel (Smith) Crayne. Barbara was married (Oct.4,1952) to the late Everett W. Marcum, who passed away on August 18, 2000.

Barbara was a Christian who glimpsed Heaven before her passing. She was beloved by her family and everyone who knew her, affectionately known as “Mom” by her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by three daughters: Linda (Wayne) Denmark of Lake Jackson, TX; Geraldine and Susan Marcum of Bossier City; and son Charles Marcum, also of Bossier City. She leaves behind six grandchildren: Angela (Gary) Weems , William “Billy” Barnett, Jacob Marcum, Emily Cunningham (Zoey Kuhn), Molly Cunningham (Braden Wallace), and Madeleine Cunningham. Additionally, she had four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren with another due in August.

In addition to her husband and parents, Barbara was predeceased by two daughters: Lisa Marcum and Jennifer Marcum, and five siblings: Reverend Richard Crayne, Harold “Buddy” Crayne, Jo Ann Hall, Carol Cooper, and Geraldine “Deanie” Grice. Her brother Jerry Crayne survives.
She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and family friend Veronica Tibbets Rock & family.

Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery, where she will rest next to her late husband.
