Barksdale conducting controlled burns

Barksdale Air Force Base

If you see smoke in the air over the next couple of days, there may be a good reason way.

The 2nd Civil Engineer Squadron will be conducting controlled burns on Barksdale Air Force Base’s East Reservation beginning Monday, Jan 29 and lasting until Wednesday.

The burns reduce the risk of a wildfire by removing the underbrush that can cause a potential wildfire to spread quickly.
