SHREVEPORT – United States Attorney Stephanie A. Finley announced today that Isaac Boger, 22, of Bossier City, La., pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge S. Maurice Hicks to receiving child pornography.
According to evidence presented at the guilty plea, law enforcement authorities detected multiple files containing child pornography being downloaded at a residence on Barksdale Air Force Base. Boger’s home and computer were searched on January 10, 2013 and more than 9,000 files of child pornography, many containing hard core sex involving children, were found on his computer. Boger was an active duty member of the U.S. Air Force when arrested.
Boger faces five to 20 years in prison, a lifetime of supervised release, and up to a $250,000 fine for one count of receiving child pornography. A sentencing date of June 26, 2014 was set. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations, U.S. Air Force – Office of Special Investigations, Louisiana State Police, and Bossier City Marshals Office conducted the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Seth D. Reeg is prosecuting the case.
This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a U.S. Department of Justice nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. Led by U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims.
