Tuesday was a good night for Bossier Parish high school baseball teams as the Airline Vikings, Parkway Panthers and Haughton Buccaneers all won on the road.
Airline knocked off West Monroe 5-1, Parkway defeated Minden 7-5 and Haughton edged Neville 3-2 in 11 innings.
At West Monroe, Peyton Davis had a double, triple and two RBI as Airline improved to 9-2.
The Vikings also got a strong performance from starter Kyle Backofen, who allowed just three hits in six innings.
Jarrett Bamburg went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
At Minden, freshman Amani Larry went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI to lead Parkway (5-5). Ryan Black had an RBI triple.
The Panthers broke a 2-2 tie with two runs in the sixth. They added three more in the seventh to take a 7-3 lead and then held off the Tide in the bottom of the inning.
Starter Eric Williams allowed five hits in six innings. He struck out four and walked four. Zach Hire got the final three outs, allowing one hit.
At Monroe, Haughton scored the go-ahead run in the top of the 11th and improved to 7-4.
Andrew Sewell got things started with a one-out single. Colton McClain reached on an error on a ball hit to the pitcher. Jonathan Plant walked to load the bases. Sewell scored on Reid Wilson’s ground ball to shortstop.
Triston Carmack, who allowed five hits and struck out eight in 6 2/3 innings of relief, got the win. Starter Sewell allowed four hits but just one run in four innings.
Haughton had only four hits, including a double by Plant. Jeremiah Wilson had an RBI.
