Baseball: BPCC takes series Region XIV series vs. Panola

The Bossier Parish Community College Cavaliers took two of three games from Panola College in a Region XIV series last week.

After losing the first game 2-1, the Cavs swept a Saturday doubleheader 3-2 and 9-7 in Carthage, Texas.

Doc Wilkerson pitched a seven-inning four hitter in the 3-2 win. Matt Hammock went 3-for-3 with a double. Josey Langston and Rodriguez had doubles.

BPCC scored three in the in the top of the ninth in the 9-7 victory. Former Benton standout Andrew Cole went 4-for-6 with a double and two RBI. Eric Goree had three hits, including a double.

Hunter Wilcher and Specner Goodwin had two hits each. Francisco Rodriguez and Taylor Roy had two hits each in the 2-1 loss. Cole Edgens allowed just three hits in eight innings.

The Cavaliers are scheduled to host LSU Eunice at 3 p.m. Tuesday, weather permitting. They are scheduled to begin a Region XIV series against Northeast Texas Community College Thursday in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, with a doubleheader scheduled there for Saturday.
