Former Haughton star Peyton Stovall is participating in the MLB Draft Combine Tuesday through Sunday at Chase Field in Phoenix.

Stovall, who recently completed his third season at Arkansas, is among 319 prospects who were invited to the event. A total of 171 members of MLB Pipeline’s Draft Top 200 accepted invitations.

Stovall is ranked as the No. 74 prospect. He is one of five Arkansas players participating in the combine, according to the Arkansas athletics website.

This is the fourth year the combine’s been held. According to MLB.com, it gives teams the opportunity to gather more information about the prospects on and off the field.

The first two days of the combine will be broadcast from noon to 5 p.m. on the MLB Network.

There will be batting practice and infield/outfield drills for position players.

Stovall received several postseason honors. After missing the first 12 games of the season because of a broken foot suffered in February in an intrasquad game, he batted .340 with nine home runs, 12 doubles and 38 RBI in 48 games.

A second baseman, he was named second-team All-SEC, first-team ABCA/Rawlings South All-Region and third-team ABCA/Rawlings All-America.
