Four Bossier Parish baseball players are participating in the Prep Baseball Report Future Games Wednesday through Friday in Westfield, Ind.
They are Airline junior Bryson Connell, Haughton junior C.J. McWilliams, Parkway junior Peyton Lewis and Parkway sophomore Gabriel Larry.
According to its website, the PBR Futures Games “will feature the best uncommitted Class of 2020 and 2021 prospects” from PBR’s “35-plus” state coverage area.
According to PBR, last year more than 250 college coaches from around the country attended.
The four players from Bossier Parish will play on a team representing Louisiana.
“Each state team will play three games. On Wednesday, all position players will be put through a showcase workout in which they will run 60s, take batting practice and be evaluated at their primary position,” according to the website.
Connell, a pitcher and infielder, was a first-team All-Parish selection last season as a pitcher.
McWilliams, a pitcher and shortstop, was an honorable mention All-Parish selection. He was a first-team All-Parish football selection as a return specialist in 2017 and is expected to battle for the starting quarterback position this season.
Lewis, an outfielder, helped Parkway go 25-10 last season and finish runner-up in District 1-5A. He is also a wide receiver on the football team.
Larry, an outfielder, will be a player to watch in 2018-19 in both baseball and football.
