Four Bossier Parish players have been named first-team All-District 1-5A in basketball.
Parkway senior guard Keondre Wudtee and Haughton senior forward Damien Sears made the boys team.
Airline senior forward Tyra Kidd and Haughton senior forward Inez Green made the girls team.
The All-District team was selected by the district’s coaches.
Wudtee is the only player to make the All-District 1-5A first team in basketball and football. A quarterback headed to Oklahoma State, Wudtee was named the Offensive MVP on the football team.
The 6-foot-5 Wudtee wasn’t a big scorer, but he ran the offense for the district co-champion Panthers.
His passes often led to easy baskets. He was also a force on defense.
The 6-7 Sears averaged 15.8 points, 12.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists.
Kidd averaged 11.8 points and 7.5 rebounds. Green averaged a double-double with 10.1 points and 11.3 rebounds.
Southwood’s Shakelvin Calhoun, a 6-2 senior guard, was named the boys MVP. The Cowboys shared the title with Parkway.
Evangel freshman Tiara Young was named the girls MVP. She averaged 26.8 points, 11.6 rebounds and four assists.
The other first-team girls selections were junior Jaiylan Brown of district champion Southwood and Captain Shreve sophomore Dezyre Black.
Parkway junior Niaya Fant made the girls second team. Other second-team selections were Byrd senior Deuyna Small, Southwood sophomore Ah’million Cosby, Evangel sophomore Madison Laboy and Evangel junior Breona Frierson.
Parkway freshman Kamren Davis and sophomore Terrance Marshall and Airline senior Jacob Guest made the boys second team.
Marshall was also a first-team football selection at wide receiver.
The other boys second-team selections were Southwood senior Dominic Caldwell and Byrd senior Cedric Harris.
Airline junior K.J. Bilbo and sophomore Trent Ivy; Haughton junior Brandon Deane; and Parkway sophomore Justin Rogers, junior Robert McKnight and senior Trey Webber made boys honorable mention.
Parkway’s Kendall Lewis and Chelsea Randle; Haughton’s Bethany Knotts and Keana Barber; and Airline’s Makayla Bendaw and Tia Lowe made girls honorable mention.
