The Haughton boys and girls teams cruised to victories on the first day of the Lakeside basketball tournament Wednesday in Sibley.
The Bucs downed Doyline 81-54, and the Lady Bucs routed Haynesville 73-25.
Kobe Byrge led the Bucs (2-0) with 23 points and Damien Sears added 20. Steven Simmons contributed to the victory with 15.
Twelve Lady Bucs scored in the Lady Bucs’ win. Reserves got plenty of playing time as Haughton (2-0) led 45-12 at the half.
Lomia Watkins paced Haughton with 14 points. Haley Myers added 12 and Chelcy Swint 11.
The Lakeside tournament continues today and runs through Saturday.
The Haughton boys opened the season Tuesday night with a 68-62 victory over Benton at Benton.
Sears topped Haughton with 23 points. Cody Lilly scored 14 and Byrge had 13.
William Givens paced Benton with 23 points and Tanner Craft had 14.
