The Haughton Lady Bucs advanced to the Jack Clayton Haughton Invitational girls championship game with a 67-47 victory over North DeSoto Friday night at Haughton.
The defending champion Lady Bucs will face Ruston, which defeated Richwood in the other semifinal, for the title at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Ebone’ Green led Haughton with 14 points. Haley Myers and Chelcy Swint scored 11 each.
Elsewhere, the Lakeside Warriors defeated Haughton 64-45 in a boys semifinal game at BPCC. The Warriors play Byrd for the title at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Haughton.
Parkway advanced to the boys consolation finals with a 77-40 rout of North DeSoto. The Panthers face Minden at 11:30 a.m. Saturday. Minden and Northwood will play for the girls consolation title at 10.
The Haughton boys played well in the first half against Lakeside, trailing only 30-28. But the Warriors began forcing turnovers in the third quarter and led by eight going into the fourth.
Frankie Miles led Lakeside with 16 points. Jamarion Teal added 15 and Quatarus Solomon 14. Kobe Byrge led Haughton with 14 points, and Ja’marcia Banks chipped in with 11.
Juwon Johnson and Artavious Lynn paced Parkway in the win against North DeSoto with 14 points each.
In a non-tournament boys game, the Plain Dealing Lions dropped Woodlawn 54-46 at Plain Dealing.
Chiner Long led the Lions with 17 points. He also had seven rebounds and seven assists. Keldrick Carper had a double-double with 15 points and 21 rebounds. Isaac Jacobs helped the cause with 10 points.
In the Gold Dome Classic in St. Amant, the Airline boys fell to Woodlawn of Baton Rouge 48-40.
